FAQs

Questions Buyers Ask Us

Each product line and industry panel above has its own technical FAQs. For anything else, send us your question with your enquiry.

What does MeasureON supply?

MeasureON supplies six industrial product lines: valves and actuators, flow measurement, analyzers and process instruments, fire and gas detection, electrical and explosion-proof (Ex) equipment, and mechanical products, tools and PPE. We serve Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemical, power, water, marine and infrastructure projects across Qatar and the GCC, sourcing each item to the customer's specification.

Do you supply to project specifications and approved vendor lists?

Yes. We source industrial materials against your project specifications, technical datasheets, approved vendor lists (AVLs) and commercial requirements. Where an AVL applies, we offer only approved manufacturers. Where none applies, we can present multi-brand options with a technical and commercial comparison so your engineers can choose.

Which brands do you supply?

We source multi-brand, matched to your technical requirements and approved vendor list, rather than promoting one manufacturer. Tell us the specification, or the brands your project has approved, and we will source accordingly. Where there is no preference, we can offer alternatives with a side-by-side technical and commercial comparison.

Can you provide datasheets, certificates and compliance documents?

Yes. We supply the documentation your order calls for: product datasheets, calibration and test certificates, material certificates, hazardous-area certificates, declarations of conformity and operation manuals. List the documentation requirements in your RFQ and we will confirm what each item will be delivered with before you place the order.

Do you supply ATEX- and IECEx-certified equipment for hazardous areas?

Yes. We source equipment to the certification your project specifies, including ATEX and IECEx, as well as UL, FM, CE or UKCA where required. The certification belongs to the product and its manufacturer; we match each item to your area classification and supply the certificates with the order.

Do you deliver outside Qatar?

Yes. We support customers across the GCC, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. We coordinate with freight forwarders, customs and local delivery teams to move material from the manufacturer to your site, and follow up until the order is complete.

How do I request a quote?

Use the Request a Quote form, email sales@measureontrading.com or message us on WhatsApp. Include your specification, datasheet or material take-off (MTO), quantities, delivery location and required date. How do we match a valve to your specification?

We start from your valve datasheet or piping class, not from a catalogue. The details that decide the right valve are the ones we confirm before pricing: nominal size and pressure class, end connections, body, trim and seat materials, design and operating temperatures, the process fluid, shut-off class, and any fire-safe or fugitive-emission requirement. Where the project carries an approved vendor list, we source only from manufacturers on it. Where it does not, we offer options and set out the technical and commercial differences side by side.

Ball, gate or butterfly: which suits the duty?

The choice is normally made by the process and piping engineers. It helps to know how the types differ when comparing offers:

  • Ball valves give quick quarter-turn isolation and tight shut-off. Trunnion-mounted designs suit larger sizes and higher pressure classes, where a floating ball would need too much operating torque.
  • Gate valves are a common choice for full-bore isolation, where the valve stays fully open or fully closed.
  • Globe valves throttle well and are used where flow has to be regulated by hand.
  • Butterfly valves save weight and space on large-diameter lines such as cooling water and utility headers.

Can actuators be supplied with the valve?

Yes. We coordinate valve, actuator, positioner and accessories as one package so that sizing, mounting and documentation line up. The actuator is selected against the valve manufacturer’s torque or thrust data with the safety margin your specification sets. Fail-open, fail-closed or fail-last action follows your control philosophy. For electric actuators and accessories in classified areas, we source to the hazardous-area certification the project requires.

Cryogenic and high-pressure service

LNG and other cryogenic duties need valves designed and tested for low temperature, typically with extended bonnets that keep the stem packing away from the cold. High-pressure service brings its own body, bolting and testing demands. For both, we confirm the design standard, test requirements and documentation with you at the clarification stage, before quoting.

Applications

  • Process isolation and maintenance isolation on production and utility lines
  • Flow, pressure and level control loops
  • Emergency shutdown and blowdown duties with fail-safe actuation
  • Overpressure protection on vessels, exchangers and pipework
  • LNG and cryogenic service on loading, storage and process systems
  • Water, cooling water and firewater networks
  • Instrument hook-ups for pressure and differential-pressure transmitters

Valves & Actuators FAQs

Can you supply valves complete with actuators?

Yes. We coordinate valve, actuator, positioner and accessories as one package. The actuator is sized against the valve's torque or thrust data with your specified safety margin, and set for the fail-safe action your control philosophy requires. Packages can include solenoids, limit switch boxes and air sets, with documentation that covers the complete assembly.

Do you supply cryogenic valves for LNG service?

Yes. We source cryogenic valves designed and tested for LNG temperatures, typically with extended bonnets that protect the stem packing from the cold. We confirm the design standard, cryogenic testing and documentation your specification requires, such as BS 6364, at the clarification stage, before quoting.

What information should a valve RFQ include?

Include the valve type, size and pressure class, end connections, body, trim and seat materials, design temperature and pressure, process fluid, operation (manual or actuated) and any fire-safe or fugitive-emission requirement. Add the valve datasheet or piping class, quantities, delivery location and required date. For spares, the tag number, nameplate photo or existing part number also helps.

Do you provide material test certificates?

Yes, where your specification requires them. We source items with the material test certificates the manufacturer issues, for example to EN 10204 type 3.1 or 3.2. State the certificate type in your RFQ so we can confirm it with each manufacturer before you order.

Flow Measurement

MeasureON supplies flowmeters and metering systems in Qatar and the GCC — electromagnetic, Coriolis, ultrasonic, vortex, turbine, differential-pressure and thermal mass meters, plus gas, liquid and custody transfer metering skids — sourced against your process data, accuracy requirements and approved vendor list, with full technical and commercial coordination.

Insulated stainless steel process pipework in a plant room

What we supply

Flowmeters

Each technology suits a different combination of fluid, accuracy, pipe size and installation constraint. We source the type your process data points to.

  • Electromagnetic (magnetic) flowmeters
  • Coriolis mass flowmeters
  • Ultrasonic flowmeters — inline and clamp-on
  • Vortex flowmeters
  • Turbine flowmeters
  • Differential-pressure flowmeters, including cone meters
  • Thermal mass flowmeters
  • Positive displacement flowmeters
  • Variable area flowmeters (rotameters)

Metering systems

Engineered skids quoted against your project RFQ, with technical and commercial coordination through to delivery.

  • Gas metering systems
  • Liquid metering systems
  • Custody transfer metering systems
  • Chemical injection skids

Accessories

  • Flow computers and transmitters
  • Flow conditioners and meter runs
  • Orifice plates and fittings
  • Mounting hardware, cables and spares

Which flowmeter suits your process?

The process data decides the technology. Tell us the fluid, flow range, pressure and temperature, the line size, the accuracy you need and how the meter will be installed, and we will source the type that fits. In general:

  • Electromagnetic meters measure conductive liquids such as water, effluent and many chemicals, with no obstruction in the bore.
  • Coriolis meters measure mass flow and density directly, which suits hydrocarbons, chemicals and batching where mass matters more than volume.
  • Ultrasonic meters cover large pipe sizes with low pressure loss. Clamp-on versions measure from outside the pipe without a shutdown.
  • Vortex meters handle steam, gases and clean liquids over wide temperature ranges.
  • Differential-pressure meters, including cone designs, remain a familiar choice where standards-based calculation and simple maintenance matter.

Which flowmeter suits custody transfer?

Custody transfer is where measurement becomes billing, so the meter is only part of the answer. Multipath ultrasonic and Coriolis meters are widely used for gas and liquid custody transfer, with turbine and orifice systems still common. A complete system normally adds flow computers, temperature and pressure compensation, proving or verification arrangements and the documentation your contract or authority requires. We quote these as engineered metering systems against your RFQ.

Metering systems and skids

For gas, liquid, custody transfer and chemical injection packages, we coordinate the technical scope and the commercial offer together. We review your specification, clarify meter runs, instrumentation and documentation, then align the lead time with your project schedule. Skids are quoted to the design and inspection requirements set out in your enquiry.

Bunkering, loading and water

Bunkering and loading at marine terminals needs measurement that both buyer and seller trust, typically Coriolis or ultrasonic meters within a documented metering system. On the utility side, electromagnetic and ultrasonic meters support water management, distribution and effluent monitoring for power and water projects.

Applications

  • Production and allocation measurement
  • Custody transfer of gas and liquids
  • Process control and batching
  • Bunkering and loading measurement
  • Water and effluent management
  • Energy management — steam, gas and utility monitoring

Flow Measurement FAQs

Which flowmeter suits custody transfer?

Multipath ultrasonic and Coriolis meters are widely used for gas and liquid custody transfer, with turbine and orifice systems still common. The meter is only part of it: custody transfer normally needs a complete metering system with flow computers, pressure and temperature compensation, verification arrangements and documentation. We quote these as engineered systems against your RFQ.

Can you supply complete metering skids?

Yes. We source gas, liquid, custody transfer and chemical injection metering systems as project RFQs. We review your specification, clarify meter runs, instrumentation and documentation requirements, and coordinate the technical and commercial offer together, with lead times aligned to your project schedule.

Should I choose a Coriolis or an electromagnetic flowmeter?

It depends on the fluid. Electromagnetic flowmeters measure conductive liquids such as water, effluent and many chemicals, with no obstruction and low cost in large sizes. Coriolis meters measure mass flow and density directly, and work on non-conductive fluids such as hydrocarbons, making them a common choice for batching and high-accuracy duties.

How do I request a quote?

Process instruments to your datasheets

Pressure, temperature and level instruments make up most of an instrument index, and most of the line items on a typical instrumentation RFQ. We work through the index or datasheets line by line: range, process connection, wetted materials, output and communication protocol, enclosure and hazardous-area rating, and any SIL requirement. Where a line is ambiguous, we raise it at the clarification stage rather than guessing.

Gas analyzers

Gas analysis covers a wide spread of measurements, and the right principle depends on the gas, the concentration and the background composition. Zirconia oxygen analyzers suit combustion control in hot flue gas. Paramagnetic analyzers measure oxygen in process streams. Trace moisture measurement protects gas processing and LNG trains, and sulfur measurement supports product specifications and treatment control. We source in-situ and extractive systems, and pair each analyzer with the sample conditioning it needs.

Liquid and water-quality analyzers

Water chemistry drives decisions in power plants, desalination, treatment works and process cooling. pH, ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorine and turbidity are the everyday measurements. Silica and very low conductivity matter in boiler feed and steam circuits. Oil-in-water monitoring supports discharge compliance on oil and gas facilities.

Why do sampling systems matter?

Many analyzer problems are sampling problems: a sample that condenses, reacts, lags or picks up contamination before it reaches the analyzer. A well-designed system keeps the sample representative, at the right pressure and temperature, and safe to handle. This applies to gas, liquid, steam and water, to emissions monitoring, and to corrosive or high-pressure service. Tell us the process conditions and the analyzer, and we will source the sampling system to suit.

Applications

  • Process control and safeguarding loops
  • Combustion control on furnaces, heaters and boilers
  • Product quality and specification checks
  • Steam and boiler water chemistry in power plants
  • Drinking water, process water and effluent monitoring
  • Continuous emissions monitoring

Analyzers & Process Instruments FAQs

Which gas analyzers can you source?

We source analyzers for O₂, CO, CO₂, H₂, CH₄, NOx, SO₂, H₂S and NH₃, along with zirconia and paramagnetic oxygen analyzers in in-situ and extractive versions. We also source trace moisture and dew point analyzers, and sulfur analyzers for total sulfur, H₂S in gas and mercaptans. Each is paired with suitable sample conditioning.

Do you supply sampling systems with analyzers?

Yes. We source gas, liquid, steam and water sampling systems, including CEMS sample handling and systems for corrosive or high-pressure service. Sourcing the analyzer and its sampling system together means the conditioning, materials and safety features are matched to the measurement, which is where many analyzer problems start.

Can you supply steam and water analyzers for power plants?

Yes. We source silica, conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen and other water chemistry analyzers for boiler feed, steam and condensate circuits, with steam and water sampling systems that cool and condition samples. These measurements protect boilers, turbines and heat-recovery steam generators from deposits and corrosion.

Do you supply continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS)?

Yes. We source continuous emissions monitoring systems and their sample handling for stacks on power plants, furnaces and other combustion sources. Where your permit or specification requires certified systems, we source to the certification it names, such as EN 15267, and supply the certificates with the order.

Fire and gas detection for hazardous and safe areas

Fire and gas systems protect people and plant, so every item has to match the hazard, the area classification and the certification in your specification. We source fixed and portable gas detection, flame detection, conventional fire detection and the alarm equipment that ties it together. Each line is checked against the cause-and-effect philosophy and the approved vendor list your project works to.

Which gas detection technology suits the hazard?

  • Catalytic bead sensors measure flammable gas as a percentage of the lower explosive limit. They are proven, but they need oxygen to work, and some compounds can poison them.
  • Infrared (NDIR) detectors measure hydrocarbons and CO₂ without consuming the sensor. They suit continuous duty where catalytic sensors would be at risk.
  • Electrochemical cells cover toxic gases such as H₂S, CO, SO₂, NO₂, NH₃ and Cl₂ at ppm levels.
  • PID sensors detect volatile organic compounds at low concentrations.
  • Paramagnetic sensing measures oxygen for depletion or enrichment.

Flame detection

Optical flame detectors see fire faster than heat or smoke can reach a detector outdoors. UV detectors respond quickly but can see false sources such as welding. IR and UV/IR designs reduce false alarms. Triple-IR (IR3) detectors give long detection range with strong immunity to sunlight and hot surfaces, which matters on open plant in Qatar’s climate.

Sourced to your certification and SIL requirements

We source to the certification your project specifies — ATEX, IECEx, UL, FM or CE — and, where detectors form part of a safety instrumented function, to the SIL capability under IEC 61508 that your safety requirements specification sets. Certificates and safety manuals are supplied with the order.

Applications

  • Process area and wellhead flammable gas detection
  • Toxic gas monitoring, including H₂S on sour service
  • Flame detection on compressors, pumps, loading areas and tank farms

Fire & Gas Detection FAQs

Do I need fixed or portable gas detectors?

Most sites need both. Fixed detectors monitor process areas continuously and feed the fire and gas system for alarms and shutdowns. Portable and personal detectors protect individuals during maintenance, confined-space entry and work away from fixed coverage. We source both to your gas list, area classification and certification requirements.

Which gas detection technology suits my hazard?

Infrared (NDIR) detectors suit hydrocarbons and CO₂ in continuous duty, and do not need oxygen to work. Catalytic bead sensors measure flammable gases at LEL levels. Electrochemical cells cover toxic gases such as H₂S, CO and SO₂. PID sensors detect VOCs, and paramagnetic sensing measures oxygen.

Do you supply SIL-rated fire and gas detectors?

Yes. Where detectors form part of a safety instrumented function, we source devices with the SIL capability under IEC 61508 that your safety requirements specification sets. SIL certificates and safety manuals are supplied with the order, alongside the hazardous-area certification for each detector.

Can you provide datasheets, certificates and compliance documents?

Hazardous-area ratings we source to

Every piece of Ex equipment carries a marking that has to match the area it is installed in. Send us your area classification and equipment schedule, and we will source to these ratings:

Rating Options What it means
Zones 1, 2, 21, 22 Zone 1 — explosive gas atmosphere likely occasionally in normal operation. Zone 2 — not likely, and only briefly if it occurs. Zones 21 and 22 are the equivalents for combustible dust.
Gas groups IIA, IIB, IIC Groups by ease of ignition, with typical gases propane (IIA), ethylene (IIB) and hydrogen or acetylene (IIC). IIC equipment is also suitable for IIB and IIA.
Temperature classes T1–T6 Maximum surface temperature: T1 450 °C, T2 300 °C, T3 200 °C, T4 135 °C, T5 100 °C, T6 85 °C. It must stay below the ignition temperature of the gas present.
Ingress protection IP66 / IP67 IP66 — dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets. IP67 — dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion.

Which protection concept do you need?

  • Ex d (flameproof) enclosures contain an internal explosion and stop it spreading to the surrounding atmosphere. They are used for junction boxes, control stations, light fittings and motors.
  • Ex e (increased safety) prevents arcs, sparks and hot surfaces in the first place. It is common for terminal boxes.
  • Ex i (intrinsic safety) limits the energy in a circuit so it cannot ignite gas. It is used with barriers and isolators for instrument loops.

Cable glands must suit the enclosure’s protection concept and the cable type, so we confirm both before quoting.

Industrial electrical for safe areas

Outside classified areas, projects still need reliable distribution and control. We source control panels and MCCs, distribution boards, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, motors, cabling and lighting, including emergency and exit lighting. Earthing and lightning protection materials complete the package.

Bulk supply for projects and maintenance

Electrical scopes often run to long bills of quantities: hundreds of glands, terminal boxes or light fittings in matched specifications. We coordinate bulk supply for project construction, and like-for-like replacement for maintenance and shutdowns against existing tag and datasheet information.

Applications

  • Power and control distribution in process plant
  • Field termination of instrument and power cabling
  • Lighting for hazardous process areas, escape routes and buildings

Electrical & Ex Equipment FAQs

Can you supply IECEx-certified Ex d junction boxes in Qatar?

Yes. We source Ex d flameproof junction boxes, control stations and enclosures with IECEx or ATEX certification, to the zone, gas group, temperature class and ingress protection in your specification. Tell us the entries, terminal requirements and quantities, and we will match glands and accessories to the same rating.

What do zone, gas group and temperature class mean?

The zone says how likely an explosive atmosphere is: Zone 1 occasionally, Zone 2 rarely, with Zones 21 and 22 for dust. The gas group (IIA, IIB, IIC) ranks how easily the gas ignites. The temperature class (T1 to T6) caps the equipment's surface temperature. Ex equipment must match all three.

Do you supply Ex cable glands?

Yes. We source Ex cable glands and accessories, including stopping plugs, adaptors and reducers, certified to ATEX or IECEx. The gland must suit both the enclosure's protection concept and the cable type, such as armoured or unarmoured, so we confirm these with you before quoting.

Do you supply industrial electrical equipment for safe areas?

Yes. Alongside Ex equipment, we source control panels and MCCs, distribution boards, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, motors, cables and glands, junction boxes, industrial lighting, emergency and exit lighting, and earthing and lightning protection, to your electrical specification. Send your equipment schedule or bill of quantities and we will quote each line.

One supplier for the items around the instruments

Projects and maintenance campaigns rarely need instruments alone. The same work packs call for mechanical parts, the right tools for each trade, PPE for the crew and a steady flow of consumables. Bringing these onto the same order as your valves, instruments and electrical items means fewer suppliers to coordinate and one point of contact for delivery.

PPE sourced to your site requirements

Site safety rules in Qatar’s oil, gas and industrial facilities set out what PPE each task needs, and to which standard. We source head, eye, hand, foot, respiratory and fall protection, and flame-resistant coveralls, to the standards in your specification. Tell us the sizes and quantities, and we will match the breakdown. Where your specification requires it, conformity certificates are supplied with the order.

Why do FR coveralls need a specified standard?

Flame-resistant clothing protects the wearer from flash fire and heat, but performance varies by fabric and design. Specifications typically reference ISO 11612 for heat and flame. Some sites add requirements for arc flash or anti-static properties. We source to the exact requirement your safety department sets.

Tools and consumables for maintenance and shutdowns

Turnarounds compress a great deal of work into a fixed window, and missing consumables or tools can hold up a crew. Send us your list early, with quantities and the required-on-site date, and we will coordinate supply alongside the rest of your shutdown materials.

How to send a PPE or tools enquiry

List each item with a description, the standard it must meet, the size breakdown and the quantity. If your site works from an approved PPE matrix, or you have a previous order or a part number for a tool, attach it. A complete list lets us quote every line on the first pass and match the documentation your safety team will ask for.

Need something not listed?

Send it with your enquiry, with a description, specification or part number, and we will confirm whether we can source it.

What we supply for Oil & Gas and LNG

Supplying Qatar’s LNG sector

Qatar is one of the world’s largest LNG exporters, and its upstream, processing and export facilities run on equipment that has to be right first time. Gas treatment, liquefaction, storage and loading bring cryogenic service, high pressures and large hazardous areas together. The approved vendor lists and documentation requirements are among the most demanding in industry.

How do we support oil and gas RFQs?

We work from your specifications, datasheets and AVL, and we clarify before we quote. Typical enquiries mix product lines — valves, instruments, analyzers, fire and gas detection and Ex electrical items on one material take-off — and we can handle the whole list rather than the easy lines alone. Each offer sets out the technical match, lead time and documentation for every item, so your engineers can evaluate it quickly.

Offshore and onshore

Onshore plants and offshore platforms share most requirements. Offshore adds corrosion resistance, weight and the logistics of getting material to a supply base. Marine & Offshore has its own industry panel with the offshore-specific detail.

Oil & Gas and LNG FAQs

Do you supply cryogenic valves for LNG service?

Yes. We source cryogenic valves designed and tested for LNG temperatures, typically with extended bonnets that protect the stem packing from the cold. We confirm the design standard, cryogenic testing and documentation your specification requires, such as BS 6364, at the clarification stage, before quoting.

Industry

Petrochemical & Refining

MeasureON supplies petrochemical plants and refineries in Qatar and the GCC with control and isolation valves, corrosion-resistant instruments, process analyzers, sampling systems, fire and gas detection and Ex electrical equipment — sourced to your process data, materials specification and approved vendor list, with full documentation.

What Petrochemical & Refining projects need from a supplier

  • Materials for corrosive service

Wetted parts, trims and seals in the alloys and elastomers your process chemistry and materials specification call for.

  • Control valve performance

Correct sizing, characteristic and shut-off class, with positioners and accessories matched to the loop.

  • Reliable analysis

Analyzers with sampling systems designed to keep samples representative and safe to handle.

  • Turnaround readiness

Spares and replacements matched to existing tags so maintenance windows are not lost waiting for parts.

  • Complete documentation

Material test certificates, datasheets and hazardous-area certificates for every item.

What we supply for Petrochemical & Refining

Corrosive service and control

Refining and petrochemical processes combine heat, pressure and aggressive chemistry. That puts the focus on materials. Valve trims, instrument diaphragms, analyzer wetted parts and sampling components have to suit the process stream, not just the pressure rating. We confirm materials against your specification at the clarification stage, and flag any line where the datasheet leaves the choice open.

Why do analyzers and sampling systems go together?

Process analyzers decide product quality and efficiency in real time, but only if the sample reaching them is representative. In corrosive or high-pressure service, the sampling system is often the harder part. We source analyzers and their sampling systems together, so the conditioning, materials and safety features match the measurement.

Maintenance and turnarounds

During a turnaround, every missing part costs time. We source like-for-like replacements against existing tag numbers and datasheets, and coordinate delivery to the shutdown schedule.

Gas detection around process units

Refineries and petrochemical plants handle flammable hydrocarbons alongside toxic gases such as H₂S. Detection has to cover both: infrared or catalytic detectors for flammables, electrochemical cells for toxic gases, and portable monitors for maintenance crews. We source each to the gas list, area classification and SIL requirements in your fire and gas philosophy.

Petrochemical & Refining FAQs

Do you supply sampling systems with analyzers?

Yes. We source gas, liquid, steam and water sampling systems, including CEMS sample handling and systems for corrosive or high-pressure service. Sourcing the analyzer and its sampling system together means the conditioning, materials and safety features are matched to the measurement, which is where many analyzer problems start.

Do you provide material test certificates?

Yes, where your specification requires them. We source items with the material test certificates the manufacturer issues, for example to EN 10204 type 3.1 or 3.2. State the certificate type in your RFQ so we can confirm it with each manufacturer before you order.

Industry

What we supply for Power & Utilities

Power and water together

Much of Qatar’s electricity comes from combined power and water plants, where generation and desalination share steam, seawater and electrical systems. Supply for these plants spans high-purity water chemistry, large-bore cooling water valves, utility metering and the electrical distribution that connects it all.

What does steam and water chemistry need?

Boilers and turbines are protected by tight chemistry limits. Silica and very low conductivity measurement detect contamination before it causes deposits. pH and dissolved oxygen control corrosion. We source the analyzers and the steam and water sampling systems that cool and condition samples for accurate measurement.

Electrical distribution and emissions

From transformers and switchgear to MCCs, VFDs and emergency lighting, we source the electrical equipment generation and utility sites rely on. Where stack emissions must be monitored, we also source continuous emissions monitoring systems and their sample handling.

Valves for steam and cooling water

Steam, feedwater and cooling water systems put valves through high temperatures, thermal cycling and, on seawater circuits, corrosive service. We source isolation, check and control valves with the materials, pressure classes and actuators your specification sets, from large-bore cooling water butterfly valves to high-pressure steam isolation.

Power & Utilities FAQs

Industry

Water & Wastewater

MeasureON supplies water and wastewater projects in Qatar and the GCC with electromagnetic and ultrasonic flowmeters, water-quality analyzers for pH, turbidity, chlorine and dissolved oxygen, and isolation and control valves with actuators — sourced to your specifications for desalination, treatment, distribution and effluent applications.

What Water & Wastewater projects need from a supplier

  • Accurate flow measurement

Meters for intake, treatment, distribution and effluent lines, often in large pipe sizes.

  • Water-quality monitoring

pH, turbidity, chlorine, conductivity and dissolved oxygen for process control and compliance.

  • Corrosion-resistant materials

Linings, electrodes and valve materials suited to seawater, brine and treated effluent.

  • Actuated isolation and control

Butterfly, gate and control valves with electric or pneumatic actuators for automated plants.

  • Documentation for operators

Datasheets, calibration certificates and manuals that support long-term operation.

What we supply for Water & Wastewater

Desalination, treatment and distribution

Most of Qatar’s drinking water comes from desalination, so water projects span seawater intake, reverse osmosis or thermal plants, storage, distribution and wastewater treatment. Each stage needs dependable flow measurement, water-quality monitoring and valves that cope with seawater, brine or effluent.

Which flowmeter suits water and effluent?

Electromagnetic flowmeters are the usual choice for conductive liquids such as raw water, treated water and wastewater. They have no moving parts and no obstruction in the bore. Ultrasonic meters suit very large pipes, and clamp-on versions allow measurement without cutting into an existing line.

Water-quality analyzers

Chlorine, pH and turbidity monitoring are the core of disinfection and treatment control. Conductivity and dissolved oxygen support process and discharge monitoring. We source these analyzers to your specification, along with the valves and actuators that automate the plant.

Valves and actuators for treatment plants

Treatment and distribution plants rely on large butterfly valves, gate and check valves, and control valves, increasingly with electric actuators for automated operation. Seawater and brine call for suitable body, disc and seat materials. We source valves and actuators to your specification, matched to the plant’s control system and utilities.

Documentation for long-term operation

Water assets run for decades, and operators depend on good records to maintain them. We supply datasheets, calibration certificates for meters and analyzers, and operation and maintenance manuals with each order, ready for handover to the operating team.

Water & Wastewater FAQs

Should I choose a Coriolis or an electromagnetic flowmeter?

It depends on the fluid. Electromagnetic flowmeters measure conductive liquids such as water, effluent and many chemicals, with no obstruction and low cost in large sizes. Coriolis meters measure mass flow and density directly, and work on non-conductive fluids such as hydrocarbons, making them a common choice for batching and high-accuracy duties.

How do I request a quote?

Use the Request a Quote form, email sales@measureontrading.com or message us on WhatsApp. Include your specification, datasheet or material take-off (MTO), quantities, delivery location and required date. Attach documents where you can; the more complete the enquiry, the more precisely we can match and price each item.

Industry

Marine & Offshore

MeasureON supplies marine and offshore operations in Qatar and the GCC with bunkering and loading metering, Ex electrical equipment, fire and gas detection, corrosion-resistant valves and PPE — sourced to your specification for platforms, terminals and vessels, with freight, customs and supply-base delivery coordinated end to end.

What Marine & Offshore projects need from a supplier

  • Corrosion resistance

Materials, coatings and enclosures that survive salt spray, humidity and heat.

  • Hazardous-area equipment

Ex-certified electrical and instrumentation for classified areas on platforms and terminals.

  • Trusted measurement at transfer

Bunkering and loading metering accepted by both parties to the transfer.

  • Fire and gas coverage

Gas and flame detection suited to open, windy and space-constrained decks.

  • Supply-base logistics

Delivery coordinated to quayside, supply bases or vessel schedules.

What we supply for Marine & Offshore

Built for salt, heat and limited space

Offshore and marine equipment faces salt-laden air, high humidity and intense sun, often in tight modules where access for maintenance is limited. Material selection, enclosure ratings and corrosion protection matter as much as the function. We source to the materials and ingress protection your specification sets, and confirm them before quoting.

Bunkering and loading measurement

Fuel and cargo transfers depend on measurement that both sides accept. We source flowmeters and complete metering systems for bunkering and loading, with the calibration and documentation your operation requires.

Getting material to the job

Offshore supply ends at a quayside or supply base, not a warehouse door. We coordinate freight, customs and local delivery so material arrives where and when your logistics team needs it.

Fire and gas on decks and terminals

Open decks and loading areas are exposed to wind, rain and strong sunlight, which affect how gas disperses and how flame detectors see a fire. Detector type, placement and certification have to suit those conditions. We source fixed gas detectors and flame detectors to the fire and gas philosophy and certification your project specifies.

Marine & Offshore FAQs

Can you supply complete metering skids?

Yes. We source gas, liquid, custody transfer and chemical injection metering systems as project RFQs. We review your specification, clarify meter runs, instrumentation and documentation requirements, and coordinate the technical and commercial offer together, with lead times aligned to your project schedule.

Can you coordinate freight and customs clearance?

Yes. We coordinate with freight forwarders, customs and local delivery teams so imported material reaches your site, warehouse, supply base or quayside. Tell us the delivery location and required date with your enquiry, and we will plan the logistics as part of the offer.

Industry

What we supply for Infrastructure & Industrial Facilities

For contractors and facility operators

Infrastructure and industrial facilities — utilities buildings, warehouses, factories, plant rooms and public works — need dependable fire protection and electrical services, built to an approved design. We support main contractors, MEP subcontractors and facility operators with materials sourced against the specification and the approved submittals.

Fire detection and alarm

A fire alarm system works as a whole: detectors, call points, sounders, beacons and the control panel. We source components to the specification and the system’s compatibility requirements, with datasheets and certificates for your submittals.

Electrical services and lighting

From distribution boards and cabling to industrial lighting, emergency and exit lighting, and earthing and lightning protection, we source the electrical materials facilities need. Where part of a site is a classified area, such as a fuel store or a battery room, we source Ex-rated equipment to match.

Documentation for submittals

Consultants and clients approve materials before they reach site, so submittals need complete technical data. We supply product datasheets, certificates and declarations of conformity for each item, so your material submittals can be prepared and approved without chasing manufacturers for missing documents.

Lighting for safety and operation

Facilities need general industrial lighting for daily work, and emergency and exit lighting that keeps escape routes visible when normal power fails. We source fittings to the lux levels, ingress protection and emergency duration in your electrical design, and match fittings, drivers and accessories across the whole schedule.

Infrastructure & Industrial Facilities FAQs

Do I need fixed or portable gas detectors?

Most sites need both. Fixed detectors monitor process areas continuously and feed the fire and gas system for alarms and shutdowns. Portable and personal detectors protect individuals during maintenance, confined-space entry and work away from fixed coverage. We source both to your gas list, area classification and certification requirements.

What PPE do you supply?

We source head, eye and face, hand, foot, respiratory and fall protection, and flame-resistant coveralls, to the standards in your site safety requirements. Send the item list with sizes and quantities, and we will match the breakdown and supply conformity certificates where your specification requires them.

Do you work with contractors and traders?

Yes. We work with EPC and maintenance contractors, end-users, traders and other industrial customers. Whether you are bidding a project, buying for an operating plant or sourcing on behalf of a client, we quote against the same specification-led process and supply the documentation the end-user requires.

Manufacturing & Maintenance Contractors

MeasureON supplies manufacturers and maintenance contractors in Qatar and the GCC with MRO and instrumentation spares, valves, electrical items, tools, PPE and consumables — sourced responsively against part numbers, tag data or specifications, so planned maintenance, breakdowns and shutdowns are not held up by a single missing item.

What Manufacturing & Maintenance Contractors projects need from a supplier

  • Responsive sourcing

Breakdown and shutdown items sourced around your required-on-site date, with the specification confirmed rather than guessed.

  • Like-for-like replacement

Spares matched to existing part numbers, tag numbers and datasheets.

  • Mixed orders

Instrument spares, valves, electrical items, tools, PPE and consumables on one order.

  • Clear documentation

Datasheets and certificates that keep maintenance records complete.

What we supply for Manufacturing & Maintenance Contractors

Keeping running plant running

Maintenance teams work to two clocks: the planned schedule and the unplanned breakdown. Both depend on getting the right part, matching the original specification, without chasing several suppliers. We source instrumentation spares, valves, electrical items, tools, PPE and consumables, and we quote against the information you already have: part numbers, tag numbers, nameplate data or datasheets.

What should a spares enquiry include?

The more of the original data you send, the faster we can match it: manufacturer part number, model code, nameplate photo, tag number, datasheet and quantity. Where a part is obsolete, we can offer equivalent options for your engineers to approve.

Shutdown and turnaround support

Send shutdown lists early, with required-on-site dates. We coordinate supply across product lines so materials arrive together, ready for the work window.

One order, one point of contact

Maintenance requests rarely fit one product category. A single work order might need a pressure transmitter, a replacement valve, cable glands, gloves and cleaning consumables. We handle the mixed list together, confirm each line against your data, and deliver it as one coordinated supply, so your planners deal with one contact instead of five.

Documentation that keeps records complete

Every replacement part should leave the maintenance record as complete as the original. We supply datasheets, certificates and, for hazardous-area items, the Ex certification with each delivery. Your records stay audit-ready, and the next replacement is easier to source.

Manufacturing & Maintenance Contractors FAQs

Can you supply tools and consumables for shutdowns?

Yes. We source tools, PPE and consumables for planned maintenance and turnarounds alongside instrument, valve and electrical spares. Send your shutdown list early with quantities and required-on-site dates, and we will coordinate supply across product lines so materials arrive together, ready for the work window.
